Electronic catalogue enhancements

In version 175, Autowork Online’s catalogue has received a major upgrade, the electronic parts catalogue now boasts tighter part to vehicle matching, and improved sorting.

In version 175 of Autowork Online, the catalogue has been improved in several ways:

  • It now uses version 8 data, which improves part to vehicle matching.
  • The way parts are sorted has been improved, so it makes finding parts much easier.
  • Date ranges are compressed, which removes duplicate parts for multiple data ranges.

Version 8 data

This is a lookup that was made using version 7 data. Notes how a fairly large range of parts are shown. Let’s see how lookups have been improved in the new version.

As you can see, far fewer parts have been returned, and the matching to the vehicle is tighter. This simplifies part selection, and makes it more efficient.

Improved sorting

The old sorting mechanic sometimes made finding items on the grid difficult. This is especially true of lookups like filters, where multiple different types are listed.

The new sort feature resolves this issues: Parts are sorted by Supplier and then by Description. This makes it much easier to find the correct part, resulting in a streamlined process.

Enhanced compression

Due to the way that parts were mapped in the previous version, if the same part is listed across more than one date range, it will display multiple times.

In the new version, this has been improved: Duplicates are now compressed onto a single line. This is done server-side, so the catalogue runs more efficiently.
