Country selector on mobile numbers

With our move to Twilio, and expansion into different countries like the Republic of Ireland (ROI), a gap was identified with the way we handle mobile numbers, and more specifically how we handle dialling codes.

Garages, especially ones close to ROI, might have had situations where customers wanted to provide mobile numbers that were not UK numbers. In the past the garage could save the number but would not be able to do anything with it.

This new feature will fix that. On each mobile entry field, the user will be able to choose the country the number belongs to.

This new feature will fix that. On each mobile entry field, the user will be able to choose the country the number belongs to.

The selector has been made in a very user-friendly way, showing the countries flag, name and dialling code. Once the dropdown has been opened the user will even be able to search for the country required.

Selecting the appropriate dialling code will ensure the text message are successfully sent to their intended recipients.

Once the new number is entered and the record updated, a verification check will be done in order to ensure the number is in fact valid.

Below are a few more examples of where these new country selectors can be found.
