This release introduces significant enhancements to the diary, building upon the r197 basic diary. Below are the key updates and improvements in r198.
Currently in r197 the users will be familiar with this view:

In r198 this view will now be shown as:

As you can see the basic look of the diary has remained with items slotting into their respective bays. One exception is the user can now click on any of the diary entries and see a detailed overview of the entry without needing to open a modal.

The existing buttons on the sidebar are still available, but have moved into new locations.
The notes section will still be shown at the top each day, however instead of clicked the notes button, there will be a notes icon. The notes section will be expanded by default and can be collapsed and hidden by simply clicking the icon.

Similar with the printing buttons, they have now been neatly grouped under a single printing dropdown in the navigation section.

Advance Jobs has also been moved into the navigation section.

Creating a new job and navigating to the MOT diary has been moved to the top of the side panel.

Clicking the new job button will open up the revamped new job modal where the user can make use of the multi-event functionality as well as the easy to use date/time/bay selectors to slot the new job into the desired location.

An example of the multi-event possibilities can be seen in the screenshot below where an item that was a single event in 197 for a service and MOT, can be easily split into 2 events into the appropriate bays.

When items are stacked or overlap each other, they will be displayed differently in r198 compared to how they were in r197. In r198, instead of stacking the items, they will be drawn side by side. This arrangement allows the user to easily keep track of the full duration of each event, rather than the duration being obscured and requiring the user to calculate it based on the planned hours.
If more information is needed on a particular item, the user can simply click once on it and a flyout will be shown with the additional information required.
