Deleting Technicians and Service Advisors
Changes have been made to the way you disable technicians and service writers who no longer work for you.
We have added to ability to mark a technician as ‘Inactive’ which replaces the Delete option. This means when you reprint or report on jobs carried out by inactive technicians and service writers you can still see who was responsible for the work at the time.
To change a technician or service writer to inactive, From Codes, open the Technician or Service Advisers screen.
Click on the Edit icon for the Technician or Service Writer you want to update. This will bring them to the top section where you can untick the Active tick box and click Update.
You can view technicians or service writers previously marked as inactive and reactivate them by ticking the Show Inactive Technicians or Service Advisers option at the bottom of the grid.
When a technician or service adviser is no longer active, they will not appear in the selection boxes for new documents. However when viewing an existing document to which they were previously assigned they will remain visible but will be shown as inactive in the drop down.
